COLOUR
Black
The black colour provides a consistent base beneath the selected UltraFlex sports-surface colour system.

SURFACE ASSESSMENT
Before application, assess the court for:
• Structural cracking
• Surface movement
• Ponding or drainage problems
• Loose or failing coatings
• Surface contamination
• Major depressions
• Asphalt deterioration
• Concrete defects
• Previous repair materials
• General substrate stability
Structural defects and drainage problems must be corrected before resurfacing begins.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Before applying Black Acrylic Resurfacer:
• Remove dust, dirt, grease, mould and surface contamination.
• Remove loose, flaking or poorly adhering coatings.
• Repair suitable cracks using the appropriate UltraFlex Fill & Patch product.
• Repair shallow depressions and damaged areas.
• Correct drainage and ponding problems where possible.
• Allow repairs to cure sufficiently.
• Ensure the surface is clean, dry and stable.
• Prime the surface where required by the selected system.
• Confirm compatibility with existing coatings before application.
Correct preparation is essential to the long-term performance of the sports-surface system.

MIXING
Mixing requirements depend on the product format supplied.
Concentrate

Must be prepared using the approved quantities of silica aggregate and water.
Concentrate with Sand

Contains the specified aggregate but may require the approved addition of water.
Ready to Use

Factory-prepared for application, subject to thorough stirring and any instructions stated in the Technical
Data Sheet.
Do not use one general mixing instruction for all three formats.

APPLICATION
Black Acrylic Resurfacer is generally applied using professional sports-surface application equipment,
including a suitable rubber squeegee.
Apply evenly in accordance with the required court-system specification.
Avoid:
• Excessive material build-up
• Uneven application
• Application over damp surfaces
• Application during unsuitable weather
• Leaving ridges or heavy squeegee marks
• Applying subsequent coats before sufficient drying
The required number of applications will depend on the surface condition and selected system.

The applicable Technical Data Sheet must be used for final project quantity calculations.
Do not publish one universal coverage figure for all three product formats until each format has been

DRYING AND RECOATING
Drying time may vary according to:

IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS
• Do not apply to dirty, damp, unstable or contaminated surfaces.
• Do not use to correct structural cracking or movement.
• Do not apply over failed or poorly adhering existing coatings.
• Do not use to correct major depressions or drainage defects.
• Do not apply during rain or when rain is expected before sufficient drying.
• Mixing and coverage differ between product formats.
• Use only the instructions applicable to the marked format.
• Ensure repairs are compatible and sufficiently cured.
• Court surfaces should be professionally assessed before refurbishment.
• Black Acrylic Resurfacer must be used as part of a complete UltraFlex Sports Coatings system.
